Rachel Park

Rachel is a student at Menlo-Atherton High School, where she was inspired to change the stigma around STEM and learning as a whole after witnessing the disparity in experience and thus enthusiasm in her own classroom. Determined to empower students of all backgrounds through science and technology, Rachel led coding workshops for girls in middle school and worked as an instructor at Mathnasium before setting out to found Curieus in the beginning of her sophomore year. She firmly believes in STEM's potential to raise the quality of life for all, from at-risk students to the injured and disabled. Currently, Rachel is conducting scientific research at an orthopedics lab, where she uses computer modeling to pioneer treatments for severe bone fractures, and has also participated in stem cell research.

Outside of academics, Rachel is a volleyball coach and retired competitive player, captaining her team to a top 20 finish at the 2017 and 2018 USAV Girls' Junior Nationals before a career-ending injury. Nowadays, you can find Rachel reading, writing, or baking in her spare time.
